Practice Areas and Education

Sean concentrates his practice on construction and commercial litigation, with emphasis on fidelity and surety law, contract disputes, government contracting, construction claims, and defense of architects and engineers.  He is a 1988 graduate of Arizona State University and a 1992 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.

 

Experience in the Construction Industry

Prior to entering law school, Sean owned and operated a structural steel consulting and brokerage firm, working on contract negotiations, design, supply and the supervision of installation techniques for structural steel components used in commercial construction.

 

Published Author

Sean has published articles on such topics as the recent developments in fidelity and surety law, differing site condition clauses of the Federal Acquisition regulations, construction claims and litigation, mechanics' lien law and ethical considerations in representing multiple clients in complex litigation.  While in law school, Sean also published an article regarding the Age Discrimination and Employment Act.

 

Licensed to Practice in Kentucky and Indiana

Sean is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Kentucky and Indiana as well as the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Seventh Circuit court of Appeals.  Sean is a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry, the Construction and Public Contract Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Floyd County Bar Association.
